How can digital nomads become people a community is glad to welcome?
Across the world, cities are being asked a hard question: when mobile workers arrive, does local life become stronger—or simply more expensive and more crowded?
That question belongs to everyone building these communities. In Fukuoka, we want to put the uncomfortable parts on the table: what failed, who was left out, and what it takes for a visitor to become someone who participates in a place.
We are not gathering to decide whether digital nomads are good or bad. We are gathering because the people who invite them have a responsibility to keep asking what they leave behind.

People working in local government, destination and community building, hospitality, research, and anyone trying to create a fairer relationship between mobile workers and the places that host them.
What language will be used?
The stage programme is in English. Multilingual translated captions will be projected in the venue.
Is admission really free?
Yes. There is no admission fee for the conference. Advance registration is required because seating at The Luigans is limited.
How is this connected to Colive Fukuoka?
The conference is hosted by the City of Fukuoka and operated with the Colive Fukuoka Secretariat. Colive Fukuoka continues after the conference as a separate stay programme.
